As a direct result of our ‘All About Animals’ course in Autumn/Winter 2016 the participants set up ‘The Dog’s Meet’ community café. The café offers participants the opportunity to learn new skills as well as offering a service to the community.
The Dog’s Meet is a community café where people can bring their dogs to a welcoming, informal space run by unemployed volunteers. There is nothing like it in the local area and it enables volunteers to provide a service for the wider community. The customers come from all walks of life and are of all ages. Some attend to socialise their dogs, others like the relaxed atmosphere and the chance to meet other local people.
